Today the energy ran dry. Dh and I have been burning the candle on both ends trying to get many things done. This morning at 4:30 a.m. we knew we were ready for a rest. Unfortunately they dont’ come on weekdays and this weekend isn’t looking too good either!
This morning I am so thankful to wake up in my own bed and know that while I still have some writing deadlines to make, for a couple of hours this morning I wil be simply Mom. D2 and I will go to the farmer’s market to find some in season fruits, we’ll go to the library to see the art winners of the contests for children, then we’ll come home to get lunch on the table and take S2 to his football practice.
Last night we had a delightful after dark swim at our neighbors. I am so encouraged by them always. Their children are grown, and they have taken ours and invited them to swim as much as they’d like in the pool next to our yard. We’re surrounded by pool yards, all who have been kind to our children about sharing. We try to reciprocate with pool sitting when they are out of town.
It is a good day….I have much on the list to do…..but thank God I am able to do the simple chores without assistance….each day I remember my stepmother’s daughter, about my age, who had a stroke last fall…..and who would love to have the “problems” I have instead of the ones she’s facing. Pray for Suzanne, who is still on dialysis….she’s a sweet lady who is facing hard times!
God is good, and He is faithful!
Sweetie
