God blesses us with things we didn’t know we needed. My friend came over again today while his mom needed to be elsewhere….and he insistently refused toys, food, and fun…but needed snuggle time….I did too….maybe the answer to keep me on task at home is to set a sleepy boy in my lap oft, for what was accomplished in an hour was amazing….and how in the world could one leave such a face to go back to a regular j.o.b.? His mom can’t either!
When my children were little, I worked two jobs as a teacher and instructor…I was not the one who held them in the mornings, thankfully God provided a loving friend of mine who was their “daytime” mom and very often they were asleep when I arrived home from a hard day…so I savor these moments with any borrowed child I can find….a chance to love on them, hug them up, and adore them….and send them home! I keep asking God for another child, yet God seems to be bringing me children to love that are not mine forever….but truly….even our birth children are only ours for a little while….as is everything else we think we own….and they are all God’s blessings to my life!
Today was another outstanding God day at the Women’s Bible Study at our church. I am so blessed by the hearts that surround me at the table each week….I am ever amazed they allow me to be a part of them. Later, A quiet hour and a half at home with my boy above, then a lunch that fed not only my Southern appetite for rich traditional southern fare, but also the fellowship with a like minded sweet soul…and I know God again showed me just how richly He has planned and planted for the harvest to come….and the time is now to harvest His children home!
God is good, and I am thankful!
