The children just arrived home from a week in another state. Changed plans, schedule rearrangements, and unexpected outcomes are part of the blended family plan. It works best when we work together and in this case it means changing visitation to July after a cross country move for their other parents. I love that we can work this way together.
My schedule, not so much.
I travel when the teens are out of town, often projects are planned weeks or months in advance for these weeks. It is what it is though and family in this family, has to come first. Thankfully businesses can accommodate and friends understand. We are just thrilled to have more time together as a family!
It’s been a weekend of working on websites, learning and engaging graphics in new ways. I find I am happiest when I am in learning and teaching mode. The learning almost a perfect chocolate for me when its something I want to learn…particularly if there is struggle in the lesson. Measurable growth is my favorite kind, whether its in profit lines, traffic interactions or the joy of seeing someone or myself perform at an entirely new level. It is the way we are made I believe, to delight in learning, discovering, creating just as our Creator does. We are made in His image and he most definitely IS a creative.
What do you like to learn? Do you cook? Html? Play Ball? What are you learning? How important is it to you to engage and learn something every week? I think it matters. I believe it matters whether it is a new perspective on scripture or a new code or way to prepare a meal. Change is constant, but that also means that the ability to meet that change is within us and sometimes because of us… what a blessing.
