Hello My Friends!
Come right on through the house to the deck! It is entirely too pretty outside to sit inside and not enjoy this glorious day. For a few weeks I’ve been sharing with you that we’re on “start over” in our back yard. Today I’m going to share with you some “before” pics!
I have iced tea, coffee, and lemonade for our coffee time today. I just can’t drink “hot” in the sunshine, so feel free to have a bottled Coca Cola too! Isn’t it fun to have actual bottle cokes? It takes me back to my childhood! We used to walk to Mr. Austin’s downtown and pay 10 cents for a cold coke once a week…it was a HUGE treat for my Mom to give to us! Mr. Austin often gave us a treat to go with our drink too! He and Miss Mary Lou owned the grocery store and only women’s clothing store in Gurdon, Arkansas when I was little. Such givers to the community!
This is the umbrella my husband rescued from the trash can down the street, the center pole was broken, but he took it a part and rebuilt it with a new center pole, is he a smart cookie or what?! Yay Dh!
This week we’ve been so on the road most days. From Birmingham to Huntsville and back again several times between business, school activities, and friendships! A highlight of the wee was meeting Trista of Delicious Designs by Trista in Birmingham. She works with Sweetwrites! my company a good bit! Another thrill was seeing Miss Becky’s new hair do after she donated 13 inches of hair to locks of love! What a week we’ve had!
Drake the lab puppy is beginning to grow into family. Wow he’s growing fast! In the back yard we’re working on making a family space with our tiny yard. Our former owners had built this terrible two car extra garage in the smack dab middle of the back yard! I am determined to green it up back there and to figure out a way to make it prettier!
Today Les started by cutting and reshaping a fir tree we have back there. Just cutting the bottom limbs to 8′ off the ground made such a difference, we didn’t cut it all the way down! I had to unplant all my plants so he could move my 4 x 8 growing boxes. We are also adding 3 new 2 x 4 growing boxes for our vegetables! It has so opened up the sunshine to the area in front of the deck visually. We’ll see how the weekend plans work out and I’ll share Monday! Be sure to come back and see more pictures!
How fun to have Becky and her boys come and sit on the deck for a few moments today…Good fellowship …how blessed am I?
Rachel ! I love what you did with your room redo! Looks so absolutely inviting and warm! Yay you!
hugs! May God bless you richly this day and always!
God is good!

I love what you're doing with the yard – it looks so pretty. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality! I think I'll go rearrange some pots in my own back yard since we've been blessed with beautiful weather today.
