Waking up in Northwest Arkansas means its usually a bit chilly even on the hottest of July dog days of summer. My host’s setting is a 7 acre spread at the top of a hill and in a beautiful location. The children and hosts usually sleep in much longer than God and I seem to understand, so I am often outside walking the property or inside as I am now writing for a few hours before they awake. God seemed to let me have the weekend off for the early morning conversations we’ve had for many months now, but oh how amazing His presence was in many venues over the weekend!
I do believe we have a winner in the best homemade pizza crust of all time with Mr. Barry serving as chef last night. My goodness, a pastry type dough that was not only crisp, but full of aired bubbles that simply melted in your mouth. His parmasian chicken with bacon pizza was out of this world!
Last night the children and I enjoyed a swim in the pool at the home. You have to understand we have five energetic children with us this week, from ages 7 to 15, all highly gifted and very verbal, so there are conversations going on constantly that require intellect involvement. Last night I thought I’d get to just swim and splash, but no they took the opportunity to dive into my personal opinions of the structure of gifted educations, of which they are all participants in, since that was one of my careers and definately my educational specialty. Who knew you could get brain strain swimming?
Today is chock full of interesting experiences from visiting with an old partner teacher in her ministry to developing content for a web project I am working with, to rediscovering how many ways I can be surprised when Fayetteville is no longer the Fayetteville I knew when I lived and worked here.
God is good, and He is working on me! God Bless You today!
