Though each passing night means a little less energy upon waking. My gosh this girl’s getting tired! Yesterday was a busy day. Working virtually means that often you ghostwrite for people you’ve never met, though you know alot about their business and/or lives. During a meeting for networking, I was privileged to meet one of the clients, an insurance man, and I was delighted to meet his young daughter who was having “dad” time that day. Later in the day, at his office, I was able to get a feel for his world, his dedication, and his service to his community. Its always encouraging when you meet a family man, husband of a teacher, who not only volunteers in the schools, and civic organizations, but also takes time out for other’s children in coaching and working with children who don’t have dad’s. I happen to be this client’s writer, so its particularly encouraging to put a face and personality with the phone conversations.
A Walmart trip was in order yesterday, needed more note taking paper for clients and school supplies were on for a nickel a notebook yesterday. The real world is that next Monday school begins for my sophmore, and I was not/am not ready. My college boy leaves three weeks past that, so I’ve got alot of work to get done!
My hostess runs at this speed all the time. Her continual ability to multi task at this level while maintaining her home, her laundry, her life….its pretty darn hard and I appreciate that she tries consistently to “be” in the moment where ever she is…not just there.
There are continual thoughts of how to make the Civic work to haul home all that I have found on the road this trip. A little concerning is that we’re not even to the second destination (where an aunt will surely load more for us as harvests happen) and I am not quite sure where we’ll put it! Somehow I don’t think the Beverly Hillbilly look will work with a chair tied to the top….then again…..
Today I have breakfast with a long time friend. We knew each other long before children when I was Program Director, children’s minister, youth director, and elder care minister at Sequoyah Methodist church here. Mrs. K is a lactation specialist at the hospitals here and I cannot wait to hear how her world has changed. Her husband is the head of International Students at the University of Arkansas! They have 4 children as I do, and we always pick up right where we left off!
Another client later, hopefully some writing time to get a few jobs put to bed and maybe get in a swim….then dinner with several friends of ours at a Mexican retaurant called Jose’s….its going to be another full day!
God bless you….and take in all that He has given you!
Sweetie
