Exciting times today….coming to my home office to find on my desktop an emailed comment from Farrah at Old Fashioned Homekeeper that told me to come to her blog to find something she had given me….you know how exciting “come find it” messages are….and this was no exception! How fun to find I have been nominated for my very first blog award!
Blogging is really my outlet for me…I began it as a way to “remember” the ever changing dynamics as I entered a new marriage, surfed the waves of two new children in our six member household as we became a blended family, and later to have a keepsake of the journey of my mother’s battle with cancer. Now, more than ever, its a place where I realize just how blessed I am as I write the chronicles, albeit seen through my perspective, of my life. Seven years later, blogging has led to a change of career paths, many many precious friends, both in real life (Mrs. Goofy immediately comes to mind), those whom I have talked to on the phone (the ever amazing Nester) , those I look so forward to knowing in person one day (Mrs. Farrah!!!!) and those whom I am sure God has protected my budget by making sure we are seriously far apart from shopping together! God has indeed blessed me with so many friends and fellow sojourners from this place I write.
One of the gifts of receiving is the opportunity to share with those around you what you’ve been blessed with…..and this award is no different….as per instructions, I will indeed share this award with five women who have made a difference in my perspectives….and have blessed me with their stories….
Mrs. Goofy www.going-goofy.blogspot.com Who became my very first IRL Alabama friend! Mrs. Goofy has touched my life in so many deep and heartfelt ways I could not define them all!
Nester of www.nestingplacenc.blogspot.com Who never fails to make the “I wish she lived closer” list of girlfriends I’ve never met, but look forward to very soon! Hopefully at Blissdom!
Katherine of www.raisingfive.blogspot.com Who inspires me, lives in my favorite state of Texas and whom I know, just know, could do the Dallas wholesale district with me next time I’m there in ways we both would be exhausted from!
Rachel Anne of www.homesanctuary.com who has so done with her blog something I believe is important….created a fun way to nurture our families and ourselves and share the journey together! Rachel Anne and Katherine, you have so come into my life just the teensiest time late….for a few years ago I lived so very close to your areas you could have thrown a rock to the yard! ….or at least been close enough to come for a Texas BBQ …just our children alone would have made the passel and flag football teams!
and the fifth nominee could own a title to a piece of my heart….for though I’ve never met her in real life, she has become part of the support system of friends that I look forward to hearing from and sending messages to throughout the week….you most likely have read her column on Today’s Christian Woman Online or at one of her websites….tah dah…..I could mean no other than www.LaurelWreathsreflections.com , a.k.a. Lori, who shares with us in so many ways, with insightful interviews and “this life is real” transparency that I so appreciate! We’re raising teenagers at the same time and its good to know who else is on team mom facing the same issues!
What a pleasant way to end Sunday afternoon….thank you again Farrah for a fun and joyful find when I checked in at my home office!
