This year, 2009, Lori has invited us to share our goals and thoughts for 2009. The last few weeks have had me considering and thinking on truly what I do want to grow and change and affirm in my life this year.
1. I desire to spend more time understanding and praising God for who He is and how he loves, provides, and cares for all of us…..more time focusing on His promises when the difficulties of life happen…more time resting in Him, and praising him for his protection and care, choosing not to worry or believe I have to deal with things without him.
2. I choose to stop making excuses in the area of my health. Its not a secret how to be healthy, healthy diet, exercise, and learning how to handle stress differently. I will be choosing to spend 30 minutes a day walking with my dogs and daughter and whomever else wishes to come along.
3. I choose to live more of my dreams. Many of them are already within our reach each day…..choosing differently on how to spend our time, money, joy…..we sometimes are our own worst gatekeepers……if its within my ability to change I am choosing to. Beginning this morning…we love homemade cinnamon rolls, its New Year’s…..so why not!
4. I choose to love those around me more fully. How many days do I not share with those nearest my heart how precious they are. Each week I will stop and send 3 notes of affirmation of how important distant ones are to me….I will smile more at strangers, and reach out to those near me and help those I can.
5. I will continue to believe that God created me for a purpose and that the passions He created within me are for a purpose and allow Him to more fully lead me in His plans for their usage…..this year I learned one of the purposes for my love of writing….I know that the “sweet spot” Max Lucado speaks of is indeed true of me….God is a God of peace and joy….and I want to live within it.
6. I will choose to live in the present. Past wounds and past heartaches and mistakes too often color my world. I will choose to believe that God indeed has forgiven me, that I forgive others, and that the sea of forgetfulness is deep enough to handle it all.
I believe that God is God….that he loves me and you….and that our most precious Holy Spirit will lead, guide, and comfort us if we will only allow Him to…
Be blessed this New Years!

I to have to remember to relax in His promises when life beings to spin. Exercise and eating healthy is hard, I was there last Christmas but once I got to where I was happy it made such a difference in how I felt. I want to encourage you to keep it up, it is hard some days, but so worth it.
Getting over past sins or past hurts is hard, but God is faithful and is our healer.
I so enjoyed reading your list. Happy New year!!

Hello, I really enjoyed your list. You have so many wonderful things to work towards this year with God’s help. I appreciate your idea of sending three notes of affirmation. I’m sure those notes will bless the receiver….and the sender!
