Once upon a time there was a little girl in Southern Arkansas whose best friend who always had the most “with it” things, Robin, had a secretary desk in her room. It was an eighth birthday present from her Annabelle, a very fashionable woman from Little Rock…what we considered the Big City in our small town. This desk….it was this little girl’s dream…my childhood dream….the little girl who loved to write in calligraphy, who loves to sketch and draw privately, who loves to make and purchase fine stationeries as well as specialty pens…..and when the little girl grew up some 35 years later, her Dh and one of her best friends made it possible for her to come home to this today:
The desk fits our tiny master bedroom….and provides the perfect space for me to have some quiet writing time as well as Bible time in the early a.m.’s without leaving my private room. I am so thankful for this silly desk…..it is one more affirmation that indeed God loves me enough to do even the simplest of things….things that in no way matter!
God does indeed give us the desires of our hearts……sometimes even 35 years later!

That is a beautiful desk! I, too, wanted one similar to this. My great grandmother had a beautiful desk that my father inherited. One day, it will be mine and I’m content to wait since it’s so special.
