The morning has been busy busy busy and my energy held up while we cleaned 9 bags of clothes from various closets. I even found my closet floor. What Not To Where was the marathon pushing us on…..picking only outfits that worked well, were flattering, and “together”
My Gosh how much STUFF we keep and for what good reason?
Guilt in my case. “That was “good” I should wear it” even though I dislike it and feel like an enormous elephant in it. “It costs X amount when I got it” as if spending money makes clothing work….or “its got alot of good in it still” when truthfully its tired and ready to be given for rags or paint work.
The week is approaching fast, Thanksgiving. Then only 3 weeks until my younger two go away for a couple of weeks for Christmas…..and I want this week to be spent preparing, decluttering, and straightening so that when we decorate the house for Christ’s birth, the things that needed to be decluttered before dragging out the Christmas things will be done already.
That means no more clothes on chairs in the bedroom, bathroom closets that need spiffing before Christmas guests….and generally our family deserves nicer, well done, moments together in our home.
Tally ho, its 1:48 and two hours of cleaning time left while she finishes up schoolwork!
God is good…..if I could only clear out the things in my mind that need to be let go of as easily.
