This morning Madison and I are loading up and driving a couple of hours to see our Great Aunt Betty in Tupelo. When I was little she lived next door to my Grandmother (she was my Grandmother’s Sister) and worked as a secretary for Gross and Jane’s company, for my Grandfather. Her home always was immaculate and they had a big garden. Her husband Jake is gone now, but I so loved going to their home in Arkansas. She has retired near her remaining child in Tupelo in the cutest garden home you’ve ever seen. Today we’re going to her house to make Valentine’s with her for fun. She’s the nearest thing Madison has to a Grandma in this part of the country, and we share and create special days with her!
Aunt Betty is in her eighties, and despite moving in her seventies, she has a girlfriend group who come daily at 3 for cappucino’s at her house. This lively group “the girls” is one of my favorite things to do when I am there…I love their stories and their travels. They are all active and walk together in their community. These gals have lived a lot of life and share their stories and teach me each time I am there. How joyful it is to get to be with them!
So we’re on the road today and despite the rain, the outlook today is sunny!
