There are so many versions of how a church should operate. So many interpretations of what is read in the Bible. I find myself astonished on what a church spends its time on from the pulpit.
The paths are many and varied on how we are to live. Whether a being a woman affects what I can do in a church. Whether or not some sins are forgiven or not as far as church leadership even after repentence. Whether or not some things are allowed or forbidden to Christians.
We as Christians are all guilty of picking and choosing what parts of God’s word we focus on. I personally prefer to overlook gluttony, since I’m carrying over 50 lbs of extra weight……and others prefer to overlook their own issues….but near as I can tell, the Bible holds me accountable to me and I am accountable to God. As a wife, I am commanded to respect my husband and be submissive to him, and it is something I struggle to do yet I want to be his wife on every level.
So many things in society have changed and I am not believing for a moment for the better. The generational precepts are so entirely not supportive now in the youngest adults of any form of respect for self or others. The Grand generation (60+ year olds) were raised to have respect for position as well as others, and to believe in hard work and family. Our latest groups have much less trust, much less desire to work for anyone but themselves, etc. It is in the workplace, it is in our government, it is an issue worth studying….inter generational thought differences.
As an individual and wife, I am determined to focus mainly on the things I personally can and should do to make my own personal obedience more in line with God’s word on each area of my life…..to live peaceably, to live humbly, to work diligently, to plan effectively, to tithe joyfully, to raise my children Biblically….so many areas I struggle…but God designed me to rely on Him….and that I will….
