My adventures never end….we made the 520 mile trip in about 11.5 hours yesterday…..which was to be expected when you realize that Sweetie stops to shop! It was a fabulous day in the shoppings find roadmap. …which is the ONLY kind of map Sweetie understands. We began with a truly out of this world experience at the sunflower field outside of my hometown by about 25 miles…..25 acres of sunflowers and two children who absolutely allowed me the time and kindness of attitude to snap pictures away while they looked it over…pictures to come later…..then down the road further as we grabbed sandwiches to go with our fruit and drinks in the car….we spied a wonderful roadside market of fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the field behind it. Again we replenished the snack stock for the trip. My new chauffeur, all driving legally 2 days…began his first highway experience and my my my all that farm truck driving for his grandad this summer paid off! Mom sat back and enjoyed the Queen Mother seat as she imagined the entire ride in a carriage…though the honda was indeed a small bit less luxorious, it was just as lovely.
Somewhere in the afternoon I figured out that Nester simply had to be tracked down by phone….which is no small feat when you 1) don’t have her number, 2) don’t see well enough without contact AND glasses to use a computer index and 3) are driving in Northern Mississippi where the internet is still often viewed as the “inner net” between where the basketball lands and the hole at the bottom of a goal, not a computer network. That said I did what all good wives do, I called Dh and said “I need this person at this email, can you hack my computer from work and send her a message from me” (never mind I don’t know my passwords, or where he could access them, its all part of the sport of husbanding) and heart of hearts, Dear Husband did ! He even focused Nester on a timeline that meant “now” and we connected, hopefully without messing up what she was working on! Sweetie, Queen Mother of find it at a bargain road trips…. was indeed answering the cell with royalty of the internet as I realized my phone label said an area code that meant my Prince Charming had indeed rescued his bride one more time! What a pleasure to get to visit with the charming lady herself, Nester, as I wanted opinions on a project we had been emailing about and looking so forward to enjoying a happenstance finds!
As the carriage continue down the highway, with much more material, bobbles and vegetables than any civic should be allowed on day one of the trip, we had the BEST conversations as we drove for the next 4 hours…..I am so blessed by the children in my lives! (to be continued)
God is good…..and btw…Nester rocks! Can’t wait to get her to Northern Alabama! She’s So There believes in all things that somewhere, somehow, someone is offering what you need at 50 to 70% or more off retail listings….its just a matter of time until I find it! That’s the absolute joy of She’s So There oursourced services…..and I love the opportunity to do it for others!
The Nester says
You, my dear, are an angel from heaven. A funny angel!
