Each and every day we wake up to blessings in our lives so daily, so moment by moment provided for us that we have absolutely no conception of how blessed we are….yet for most of us, its hard for us to frame our thinking to even attempt to acknowledge thankful….at least more than a glancing thought from time to time.
In my life as a wife, mother, stepmother….I am often aware of the struggles I face, how to pay the bills, how to make decisions I face…how to get the trash taken out daily by the teenager…. yet I am often not keeping my focus on the blessings I do have! I tend to think whatever I am facing is truly an issue…and is very very difficult…..after all, its the drama I am facing…it has to be somewhere on the “this is a hard life” scale doesn’t it?
Aren’t we silly? Most of us have so much, most of us live daily things in our life we so take for granted…..Yet God is God and each moment the Holy Spirit is within us trying to guide us, to lead us, to fellowship with us….if we would only stop our chaos long enough to listen…Psalms 94 tells us that our thoughts are futile….boy can I say that’s true…the harder I try to solve anything without God the harder I fall…..yet when I wait upon the Lord for His guidance, the answer may be surprising, but it always resolves whatever situation I face. That self important “I gotta solve this” mentality is again the yeast of the Pharisees…..not the humility of a child who waits upon her father.
God help me to draw near to you….and to wait upon your wisdom. In Jesus name,
