Today was the sleep in day…..and I made it a whole 2 hours later….to 6:39 a.m. Yeah me. Today there is absolutely NOTHING on the list that has to be done, don’t you love days like that? Dh may go hunting, Daughter will most likely play the Wii….because our children leave for Christmas in early December with their other parents, we have always given them one present the day after Thanksgiving so they can play until Dec 15 or so when they leave. This year the family choice for Christmas was the Wii…so she has been playing a little since 8 p.m. last night when we allowed it unwrapped.
Son2 is still in the hunting woods in Arkansas. I will return to Memphis Sunday afternoon to pick him up. Son1 is in the hunting woods in Southern Arkansas….and Daughter 1 has bagged her man and the date is set for April 5th.
Today I hope to get a wreath for the front door made from grapevine we harvested in Arkansas and to enjoy just bumming around our home.
Dh was a champion making the Thanksgiving day appearances happening and for allowing our own family day to be super tiring as we made it through 3 states in a 3 day period between his visits to Oklahoma for our oldest child and making down to my father’s for the younger children and our college boy. We were in 2 cars this trip coming from 2 directions but it all happened, 5 events and parts of our immediate folks at all 5, all of us coming together at my father’s for the last one. God is good, we made it safely home.
Christmas season is upon us, I have 20 days to make our memories and enjoy the traditions and celebrations of preparing for our Christ’s birth.
God is good!
