When you are an educator one of the first things you learn is to do by teaching. There is not better instructional path to engage best practices than to learn what a room or auditorium full of folks learning will do with your instruction. Talk about learning best practices quickly. Today I did a Facebook LIVE outloud. I have trained speakers, teachers, and entrepreneurs for many years on how to use the LIVE processes in Google Hangouts, on Facebook and in distance learning. Today, however, I did it outloud in our home in Camden, Arkansas. From a grown member of my family almost walking in with only a towel on, to Babe, our labrador choosing to snore during the program, it was a 3 minute adventure!
We’re starting a new chapter in our lives. One we feel is a God inspired encouragement to really live the live we love. It’s going to be an adventure and so much new learning…makes me excited and nauseous in the same breath! Who knew I’d ever live in an antebellum home in one of my two hometowns. Who knew I’d love coming home to here in business and in the community at least part time! We count ourselves fortunate to come at a time when Camden, Arkansas is beginning a new chapter in its life as well. Southern Arkansas Tech is being recognized as a serious competitor in the community college world, East Camden just keeps on growing and the heritage of this Civil War town modernized is engaging in new ways to celebrate our history while learning from it to create a better future. It’s an exciting time to be in Arkansas in general and we’re happy to rejoin the community. We’ll also be in Northern Alabama where The Tacky Brown House resides and Feller works. We love the tiny community we live in and are working on a 1955 cottage on a few acres where we hope to continue learning about self sufficiency and aquaponics. We’re beginners but loving it. Work keeps me on the road where ever my clients are appearing, debuting, and running their brands, it’s a travelers life, and I love people, so it works for me.
Les and I and our blended family began our lives here together in 2002 and we think we’ll finish our lives here as well…at least for the forseeable future… #herewego
We hope you’ll come along for the adventure as we build our lives in this Southern town.
