This week there is so much God has shown me that I cannot find the words to share with you how He has created new sources of rain to end what had been a desert of brokenness in me. The snow that came Sunday morning and was here for just that brief few hours has been symbolic for me of how in an instant my life can change….and not always in devestation
Today I am especially thankful for:
- A God who loves me despite me every.single.moment and is present when I seek Him.
- A husband who gets excited with me when I’m talking 100 mph and giggling over a new project, yet somehow forgot to stop and make dinner in the excitement.
- Stepchildren and children who can get behind where God is asking me to go and cheer me on….despite potential discomfort in sharing what we’ve learned together….
- Friends who are willing and able to help me find the way through my jungles…including going around Mt. Washmore when they visit some weeks….
- That laughter is available when life brings you situations that otherwise would make you cry….after all…if we’re gonna mess up our makeup might as well be tears of laughter & joy!
- A daughter who has learned how to make Chocolate Cheesecake this week!
- A benign diagnosis on my soon to be married stepdaughter’s biopsy
- A son who for the second time in his life, remembered to put the cans on the curb without reminding or grumbling about it! (see! testosterone poisoning has not totally taken over his brain! Yeah!)
- The teenagers who open their hearts and give the best hugs when they come to our home
- Amy Jo, Stephanie, Melissa, Betty, Bobbie, Becky,Farrah, Arianne, Rachel Anne, Katherine, Paige, Trista, Angela, Sherry, and many other women who make my life richer on a weekly basis for knowing them via real life or blogs as we share this desire to follow Christ and show His love each week in our lives.
- and I am especially thankful for my DH who mops the floor without asking because he knows I simply am exhausted some days after dinner after being up since 4:30…and he looks amazing doing it too!
God is good….I am so very thankful for His never failing love and counsel!

Great list Shanna! It’s snowing here today. I suppose it is still technically winter. I just got spoiled when our tempatures rose to almost 50 this past week.
Hmm…it seems to me there could be a lesson there. Just when we think we’re coming out of a wintery season of our life, God shows us one more thing He wants to teach us before we move into the next season. I’ll have to think on that one for a while!: )
Blessings,
Melissa
