As a strategist, the days are often long on production days at the studio, time writing with clients can fill a week, I love the work I do. The work itself is rewarding but the goal of my work is to not only empower the people I work with but to engage opportunities for my family as well.
Do you take time off to play? This week I was able to just take a day off to play unexpectedly midweek. We traveled to a nearby town we love to shop in and made a day of it. Favorite restaurants, shopping, and time to talk. My daughter is nineteen now, the world is an exciting place, and I want to make sure we take time out to focus on just where she is…and to be in this space together.
It is such a privilege to be all of my children’s and stepchildren’s mom. I love hearing how their perspectives are changing, to laugh together, to take time to affirm why and how I see them growing and changing. To hear their hearts and to have fun together.
I am often asked what part of my work I love best…and the answer is…that moment that I get to witness people becoming who they are…using their gifts in ways that inspire them and others…
Yesterday I had that holy space again, and it’s not limited to clients…I got to witness this gorgeous creature God created and hear her beautiful heart, see her inviting smiles, and laugh out loud throughout the day….
God is good.
