This weekend was a surprise humdinger. We went to the Morgan County Decatur’s Farmers Market to pick up fresh peaches, peas, and corn. It was hotter than blue blazes but it was so very good to see our friends there. After the market we scored tickets to see the Bank Street Players rendition of Oklahoma! It brought back many memories of playing in the orchestra in high school in Arkansas. The show was delightful and I believe it was one of the best afternoon dates our family has had in such a while. Held in the majestic Princess Theatre in Decatur, a historic venue with all the finery of a beautiful theatre, it was a grand afternoon.
Sunday found us worshiping at The Church of the Highlands in Huntsville with a dear friend’s family. We loved the energy of the church and the Word was simply tailored for the lessons we needed as a couple and family. You can watch and hear the series online here.
Sunday afternoon DH offered to build the shelves in my office closet so I would have more organization space. You know things have to get worse before you can build them better? The mess we made to empty the closet! yikes! Who knew you could shove that much into a less than 4′ x 1’space
This tacky brown house has very little storage, so adding shelves to the sides of one of the “too little to be a closet” closets was just fantastic.
Now I have places for paper towels, the vacuum, a few boxes for seasonal things on the shelf and my luggage has a home (even unpacked! we won’t talk about how long I used the luggage as a dresser in this renovation!)
It was a blessed weekend. We may need a week to get over the weekend! Today I’ll be doing my #15minutemiracles for the hours of 9 to 10 am CST. It’s where I set a goal for 15 minutes to work on that one goal. At the end I celebrate being on task the whole 15 and very often that the problem area, task, or dealing is DONE! Join me on Facebook with your before/after #15MinuteMiracles pictures at http://facebook.com/sweetieland.

It’s such a good thing to know that when it’s time to play, it’s time to play. Work from home and for public roles often go 24/7, so its important to Les and I that we make family time priority at least every other weekend. This weekend was stellar! Thanks for sharing our excitement!
