They say the coldest air on record for six years is coming tonight….it feels like it this morning in Alabama. I thought I moved from Alaska twelve years ago…turns out, Alaska air is visiting tonight for a few days!
Daughter and I are going ice skating again today. She is so excited that Mom is going to skate with her. Please be in prayer for Mom. I can only imagine how fun it would be to do my routine with crutches. I love to skate though and always have. We used to drive 100 miles to get to a rink in Arkansas about once a year growing up. My aunt had a rink near her home in Houston that we would go to when I was there each summer.
The dogs slept outside in their newly weather proofed version of their dog house. Honey had made their condo seem more like a sunroom, so hammer and nails were brought out to replace walls she had chewed down…..boredom I guess. We also covered them in tarps afterwards to block out some of the artic windes. Tonight however, they will come in since they tell us it will be 5 degrees or so.
The Bible study homework is so worthwhile…but I have spent more time looking at it than doing it…..the questions have made me think and that is good. I also reread the first six chapters of A Separate Peace to help Chaser do his homework. It had been 25 years since I have read it….could that be possible? Seems like yesterday….
Les is still in Colorado and enjoying his work there I think. His travelling partner is social, so its been interesting for them to share a vehicle….dinner last out until 10 last night, which is not Les’s way…..so he’s ready for Friday to get here!
I’ve got to get onto chores this morning. Yesterday I made venison stew and Madison made cornbread, tonight we’ll do chicken tenders homemade, mashed potatoes and green beans for family night. The boys from Chase’s group come eat with us Thursdays, so its massive cooking for the lot of football players, then a movie…..though this week I’m doing a preshow of A Separate Peace discussions and vocabulary since they have a test and notebook check Friday….
God is good…..the Holy Spirit is within you, allow him to counsel, guide you, and be your instructor as we were promised he could be!
