This morning we got Chaser off to school early, I had a phone conference with an attorney for a writing project in North Arkansas, then realized it wasn’t MONDAY but Tuesday which meant Bible study started at the church in 25 minutes! Not being one of the mornings I showered really early (well, I left the towels in the dryer last night) I scurried to grab a towel and head to the Bible Study.
The nine of us were there with our journals and outlines. Once again we were asked to share and I was tickled to see how God uses the same Scripture to speak differently to all of us. While Colossians 2 spoke to me about looking forward, leaving the past behind, and walking with God….to others it meant different things. The Word of God is living….its meaning and words change as our understanding develops or our experiences allow a different level of understanding. While I was sitting listening and participating it was as though God whispered:
My word is like seed in your heart. As you plant it, tend it, nurture it within you, your planting of my Word will grow and form new fruit within you.
Pretty amazing insight God shared with me today…….and I thought to myself, and as your Word is planted in my heart, my old words wither and die so much easier than when I try to weed my own mind and heart.
Chaser is home at noon again with a sick headache…sure enough, we realized msg was in something he ate as a quick breakfast, so its now off the list of things to digest.
God is good…and I so am enjoying new time in His word.
