Last night after a very long day I had the kindness of one neighbor inviting my youngest to go their daughter’s ball game for the evening, and then my son was invited for dinner at our other good friend’s home. It seemed kinda odd, Les had come home with a huge report due today and I thought, “Wow this is different” as they all went to their corners and events. Then the phone rang and Miss LouAnn called and asked if I’d like to play Bunko with her friends. It doesn’t take this girl long to say yes to dinner out and good times with potential new friends….so off the Jeep and I went to the next town and in seven or so minutes faithful Tom Tom found her home. Entering in the beautifully decorated home I passed a table of four women….I had that fleeting fear for a moment (since I had let myself in), that I had just interrupted dinner in a perfect stranger’s home…I did what any reasonable woman would do and kept walking straight past them hoping for a front door to exit! Thankfully in the living room I found folks I could recognize as from our new church at the other two tables. …and I had indeed entered the right home!
What a blessing fellowship is. We laughed and played several rounds of Bunko and had delicious foods and dessert. That Sissy girl, my favorite office manager, was there since the hostess was none other than her mom! I’m here to tell you those girls have the nicest friends and what’s worse is I think there must be some requirement that you have to be “cute” to be in their group (they let me slide in as a alternate since someone was out)…..there wasn’t a less than beautiful woman in the room inside and out! How fun to hear the laughter and even get to wear a tiara when one rolled a Bunko! You know the Queen Mum is into crowns! Who knew Baptist girls could be so fun?!
God is good, what a refreshing treat at the end of a long long day! Laundry had been accomplished for 5 loads washed and put away, business things had been handled, and I even managed to get a forgotten lunch to the right child at school without him going hungry. We won’t talk about the 20 additional loads that structurally support Mt Washmore, but enjoy the clean underwear and towels they all own in their drawers this morning!
This morning started off with a great phone call from Vikki Wells of the Thelma Wells Ready to Win Conference coming up in May. Each morning I am blessed and honored as we strategize how to create a wonderful experience May 22-23 for the women who are coming to Garland Texas for MamaT’s FREE conference! If you’d like to come, come on! Mrs. Goofy and I are making a road trip to Garland Texas outside of Dallas for the entire weekend! We’d love to have you join us there! There’s a button link here to grab and go! Please help spread the word!
We are so exited that Mama T’s dream of a totally free women’s confernce for over 5000 women is happening! Please make plans to join me in Dallas…and let me know you’re coming! I’d love to see you there (Jill! This one is close enough you can come!)
God is good and He’s in the business of making dreams come true! (after all, He gives us the dreams!)
