Spring brings in the “What’s Next” questions again. We’ve avoided doing plumbing under the house during the wet winter months. That choice meant a domino of effects on completing our small master bath. We have several big projects for the next series of renovation goals:
- Master bath plumbing
- Flooring for the new bedroom
- Replace siding on the exterior of the house
- Paint the house after replacing the missing siding pieces
- Create a walkway from the front door, we have a temporary one for now
- Reseed the front yard and add fill dirt
- Take out additional pine trees that threaten the house if they fall
Then there are the weekend warrior tasks:
- paint the kitchen island
- Cut out a space in the end of the island to install microwave
- Create and install a mantle
And then there are the plain “I want these someday” project list:
- Stone or brick patio behind the deck
- A lean to built behind the shed to protect the tractor
- A roof on our deck
- Shades on our front window
- Skylight in our den
We are doing this renovation with cash, so each project requires more projects or creative solutions to afford them. It is a challenge and it takes time, however with careful buying and extra gigs and projects on the side of my usual small businesses and bloggers, we slowly are building this tacky brown house to be the one we saw when we envisioned her.
Meanwhile I have done a project to completion….and it made the whole planning thing better by the time they were baked. 🙂 Chocolate chip cookies!
