The last 24 hours have been a different day. We’ve had the privilege of sharing an 11 month old for a few weeks now, but last night she was mine for the night as well. She is a cute number, bald with little whisps of hair and as happy as a girl gets. She is also seriously into food. We get so tickled at her excitement over each new vegetable or fruit offered.
Folks I am a bit out of practice for cooking with one on the hip and there is nothing like childproofing a home in hours without warning. We are so aware that each child is a blessing from our 22 year old to our 12 year old, but having a borrowed child makes one remember the joy of it all over again.
This morning at 4:30 I was rocking a child back down …..and she simply looked up and said “good” and touched my face. Are those not precious moments? We should all be so blessed to stop and delight in something and affirm it is good.
Can you believe it is July already? I am still wondering where April went and now I’m two more months behind! July is our son2’s birthday month and summer football practices begin. Its going to be a busy time with pool time, practice time, writing time, and vacation time all in 4 weeks! God is good is He not for coordinating it all so we can accomplish the things we desired. Bible school is also this month at our church and I am so excited about the “heritage” we are teaching the children of who they are in Christ. What a wonderful curriculum to research and prepare for 6 grade levels. I am thankful for a church that has a Children’s minister who wants to do more than a packaged deal. this fall in our Wednesday program…not that they are less…but personal study always gives me personally so much more!
God is good. That is all there is to it! Be blessed! Meanwhile I’ll try to figure out how one entertains an 11 month old and keep her on track for the day…..and maybe without even the 3 baths yesterday’s feedings required! ๐ A girl can never have too many good baths!
