It seems that just as i wrote the last blog post a change was coming I didn’t forsee. A large project I was working on went in a different direction. It is as though I had to go through that disappointment to refocus what life’s blessings are. You see when we get so focused, so caught up in one direction in our life, it becomes so easy to let the other areas of our life become unfocused. Work is important, but it cannot overtake relationships, fun, creativity, joy, worship or it simply becomes unbalanced. The first three weeks were so awkward, no more 80 hour weeks, no chaos creating struggles to overcome….the exhilaration was gone, but also gone was the stress that such things produce in your life.
Meanwhile spring arrived, flowers push up from the earth again, dead branches cut away to reveal new growth…and I like the rose bushes behind my home will grow another season after this pruning and bloom a healthier bloom and I am thankful.
