Gingerbread house making in our past have been expensive endeavors….often with a huge mess and less than happy results…..but this year was different…we found a $6.00 kit at Aldi’s….she had so much more fun not “doing it right” from scratch, but assembling the prebaked house that allowed her to do what she enjoys the most….decorate and make oodles of white icing after the kit’s ran out…
Part of discovering a simple joy is setting expectations to accomplish what is desired….in this case, a fun filled morning with my daughter…..not an expectation of perfection….which always leaves us disappointed.
