This morning we’re getting our 19 year old off for his freshman year of college in another state. Its rocky this morning, his dorm situation is still in the air, we hope to know before 10. He is out licensing his car, getting new tires his dad, grandma and granny bought for his birthday with birthday money. I’m working on the care package that will keep him fed for a while since his college does not have cafeteria services!
The birthday was quiet, I was not well that morning so I stayed on the couch, Dh took the children fishing for the afternoon, the house was quietly to myself. Later in the day I made dinner for the children and daughter 2 made german chocolate cake for Lesley Jr. I had several phone calls with well wishers and later we watched a movie together. Asleep by 9, I do not live an exciting life!
Today Dh is home seeing son1 off to college. I will work this afternoon if I can figure out the next project. I managed to get done with 6 loads of laundry on my birthday (my birthday to me!) and today I am enjoying that the kitchen is all there is left. I had bought myself a swiffer and wetjet mop pads for my birthday…we live in an all wood floor home and it just is laziness I can enjoy…I seem to not be gifted in brooming. (contrary to the picturesque skills of the wicked stepmother, I guess I could ride mine, but using it for cleaning is not my forte’)
This week its about figuring out the new routines now that they’ve run a week….settling into a more relaxed I’ve got it covered tone….now that its on paper….and enjoy this blessed life I have been given.
