The breakfront

| Sweetie Berry | No Comments

Sometimes the schedules simply don’t work out. This week has been a case study of intentions versus interruptions.  The flooring for the master bedroom is no longer available, we have a whole house of it, but not enough for the last room.  There are choices, but the one I am choosing is to go forward into the room and live with it a while until the needs reveal themselves.  Our master bath will not be completed for weeks and a room tells its own stories after you live in them a bit.

We brought home a large breakfront for the kitchen area.  A gamble with its 80 x 84 size in a small kitchen, I hoped it would anchor that end of the room and provide more storage.  The gamble paid off, it works! Here is a picture as I found it and soon I’ll show you pictures of it in our space.

One of the things I like best about #TheTackyBrownHouse is that it lends itself to change. It’s good bones have served us well as we transition it from 1320 sq ft ranch home to one that will be 1610 as we added the laundry, small master bath and bedroom.  She seems to be pleased with the new colors and stagings, though I am sure she is quite ready for the outside panels and paint to happen!

Interruptions often seem bothersome when they occur, but this week again has affirmed to me that often schedules are simply penciled in plans, but life is often best lived in the moment.
