Because we homeschool and our neighbor children are public schoolers, we try to create opportunities several times a year to gather us all and do simply fun mornings! Today we have the girls’ gathered to make Valentine’s day cards. The girls from school have a list to fulfill for their classrooms and Madison has a list from church and our small group, so instead of buying boxed cards, we bought papers from the sale at Hobby Lobby and put out scissors and glue, glitter, colored pencils and stickers and set them to work. Making 25 each of the cards takes a while, so we take a break to serve cookies they decorate and bake while working and a few fun trivia questions about Valentine’s day complete with sticker sheet and pretty pen prizes! After snacks we go back to the card making to finish up, load up each girl’s creations in gallon zip locks and pass out a take home treat they make for their Mom or Dad. (a cellophane wrapped handmade card, a mini lotion or candle, and a few chocolate kisses) Its a fun two-three hours and it involves less than $10 worth of purchase to handle 6 girls. That’s value for me! Fun fun fun!
God is good and fellowship with friends is a blessing!
